Canadian Partners in Workforce Innovation
Who We Are
Canadian Partners in Workforce Innovation (CAN WiN) is a federally funded program operated by Open Door Group that helps employers meet workforce needs by connecting job seekers with disabilities to accessible employers.
CAN WiN recruits for many different career opportunities, from entry to senior-level positions, on behalf of employers who are committed to workforce inclusion of people with disabilities. We offer accessible recruitment, retention, training, and consulting services for employers in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario.
Why We Are Involved
Our team believes strongly in the value that an inclusive workforce brings to individuals, organizations, and communities.
From the inception BC WiN (now CAN WiN), we saw an opportunity to use a recruitment model to connect career-oriented job seekers with disabilities to employment. With a focus on abilities, we connect Job Seekers with disabilities to a variety of employment opportunities with employers by completing pre-screening interviews to determine if they’re a good fit for our employers, as well as how to support successful outcomes for all parties.
We collaborate with our Service Partners to enhance our collective impact and engage with Job Seekers directly, connecting them, when appropriate, to disability employment supports.
Our current Employer Partners include London Drugs, ICBC, Ledcor, Canadian Western Bank, Fable, the LCBO, FedEx and other employers across Canada.
Throughout the work we do, CAN WiN applies The Four Pillars Model of accessible and inclusive employment, helping build employer capacity to successfully hire and retain employees with diverse abilities.
When we connect with new Employer Partners, we start here—with foundational training aimed at increasing the core competence of the recruitment team, enabling them to recruit from this diverse talent pool.
Our four pillars are: Commitment, Readiness, Recruitment and Retention.
