Sarah Grindlay Consulting
Who we are
At Sarah Grindlay Consulting, we are disability-lead, and disability-focussed. We specialize in accessibility consultation, accessible communications editing and writing, accessibility training, and manual web accessibility audits.
Our purpose is to help companies and individuals reduce barriers for people with disabilities. By doing so, we aim to ensure that all people, regardless of need or ability, can access their messages and services. In turn, we create more diverse, inclusive and accessible spaces, both physically and virtually.
We prioritize collaborating with external consultants who identify as having one or more disabilities, and/or who face additional barriers to employment. We believe that lived experience with disabilities is an essential aspect of accessible service delivery.
Sarah Grindlay, owner and primary accessibility specialist, identifies as a queer and neurodiverse woman with invisible disabilities. She is a Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC). She also holds memberships with the Plain Language Association International (PLAIN), Disability Alliance of British Columbia (DABC) and the International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP).
We are grateful to live and work on the unceded lands of the lək̓ʷəŋən, Songhees, and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples, colonially known as Victoria, BC.
Why we are involved
Our company was founded with the purpose of becoming an inclusive employer. We seek out opportunities to collaborate with, or employ, other companies and individuals who identify as having disabilities.
