Canadian Mental Health Association BC
Who We Are
Founded in 1918, the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) is the most established, most extensive community mental health organization in Canada.
We are a federated charity, which means we are a collective of organizations bound together by a brand and mission. Together, we identify and respond to Canada’s most pressing mental health priorities. At the national and provincial level, we push for system and policy change.
At the community level, millions of people in Canada rely on CMHA’s extensive grassroots presence.
In BC, mental health, substance use, and addictive behaviours are within the scope of the organization.
Why We Are Involved
We are committed to reduce mental health stigma with education and outreach, providing resources and information, developing innovative new programs and responding to priorities thought policy and advocacy in mental health, substance use, and addictive behaviour in BC.
