Communication Assistance for Youth & Adults (CAYA)
Who We Are
CAYA (Communication Assistance for Youth & Adults) is a province-wide service program that supports adults aged 19 years and older who require an augmentative/alternative communication (AAC) system due to a severe communication disability, i.e. speech that is not functional for daily communication.
The goal of CAYA is to ensure that eligible individuals have access to the communication tools and professional support to enable them to create an adult life to the best of their abilities.
Why We Are Involved
Communication Access is the right of all British Columbians when they are accessing goods and services. There are free resources available to businesses, organizations and programs, to assist them to make their services accessible to people with speech and language disabilities.
CAYA is available to provide guidance to businesses, organizations, and programs to make their services accessible to people with speech and language disabilities.
