Why we are involved
BCI recognizes that our people are our most valuable asset and to best serve our clients, we must reflect the diverse markets in which we invest and operate.
We aim to foster an environment that empowers our employees to excel, valuing the commonalities and leveraging our differences, while enabling us to respectfully challenge perspectives and express opinions. An equitable and inclusive environment contributes to a strong sense of trust, confidence, and belonging.
Accessibility is part of BCI’s broader commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI). Our strategic goals aim to create intentionality and accountability—attract and accelerate top diverse talent, and activate engagement, performance, and innovation through inclusion.

Accessibility Initiatives
Accessibility Committee
BCI’s Accessibility Committee was established to make our workplace more accessible for all our employees, clients, suppliers, and partners.
The committee comprises representatives from key functional areas impacted by the implementation of BCI’s Accessibility Plan, with 80% of members having personal experience of disabilities and/or supporting others living with disabilities.
The committee played a key role in identifying and understanding barriers, ultimately informing BCI’s Accessibility Plan. The Committee continues to advise BCI on strategies to prevent and eliminate barriers within policies, programs, activities, and services throughout the corporation.
Accessibility Plan
BCI’s Accessibility Plan identifies the strengths and barriers for employees with diverse abilities and outlines eleven priorities across five areas to improve accessibility at BCI over the next three years.
The plan was developed in consultation with BCI’s Accessibility Committee, functional areas of the corporation, and external accessibility advisors. On a triennial basis, we will review and amend the plan as required to incorporate feedback received on accessibility and in line with evolving best practices.
BCI is committed to making our workplace accessible and inclusive for everyone. Our focus is on reducing and preventing barriers and meeting the needs of people working within our organization or interacting with us. We are continually working to align our approach to accessibility with best practices and the requirements of the Accessible British Columbia Act.
