Who We Are

We provide outdoor recreation opportunities to persons with disabilities, centred around adaptive mountain biking.

Why We Are Involved

This was a primary focus in the shift of a former event driven organization which saw a huge gap in accessible outdoor recreation. From that starting point, Kootenay Adaptive has catapulted to the position of a world leader in the emerging sport of adaptive mountain biking.

Accessibility Initiatives

We have implemented adaptive mountain biking programming, rentals, guiding, instruction, events, free demo days, globally adopted accessible mountain biking trail standards. Our organization also provides women’s specific programs, as well as providing safe spaces for persons of colour and we have adopted 4 of the truth and reconciliation commissions calls to action.
