Greater Victoria Police Victim Services

Who We Are

Greater Victoria Police Victim Services is a police based victim services unit providing emotional and practical support to people impacted by crime and trauma including information on police and court procedures.

We work in partnership with the Capital Regional District’s seven local police agencies: Central Saanich Police Service; Military Police Unit – CFB Esquimalt; Oak Bay Police Department; Saanich Police Department, Sidney/North Saanich RCMP; Victoria Police Department and West Shore RCMP.

Why We Are Involved

The organization has set a strategic priority to:

GOAL: Understand and develop relationships with diverse communities and peoples.

With this as a priority, GVPVS had embarked on a journey towards diversity and inclusion including anti-oppressive/anti-racisms (AOAR) active practices.

It matters to GVPVS to be part of the inclusive employment movement because inclusion brings diverse voices to the delivery of our services.

Accessibility Initiatives

We are new on this journey, however we are strengthening our policies and procedures for accommodations and accessibility for employment opportunities and service delivery.

A future goal is to audit our digital accessibility looking for opportunities to improve in this area.
