District of Central Saanich

Who We Are

The District of Central Saanich is the municipality government for Central Saanich. We provide services such as development and community planning, bylaw services, building inspection, water and sewer, maintain the roads and drains and maintain a number of parks and municipally owned buildings/facilities to our residents.

Central Saanich is a friendly and active community spanning the middle of the Saanich Peninsula and the traditional territory of the W̱SÁNEĆ peoples, including the W̱JOȽEȽP (Tsartlip) and SȾÁUTW̱ (Tsawout) First Nations.

More than 18,000 residents call this beautiful area home. From Island View Beach on the east to the Saanich Inlet on the west, the region includes fantastic parks, nature trails and beaches, and boasts the highest concentration of agricultural production in the region.

Why We Are Involved

We want to be a more inclusive employer and ensure that we are developing and living by best practices in this subject area. We are hoping by tapping into the resources you have we will be able to learn and grow as we don’t know what we don’t know.

One of the strategic priorities of the Council and therefore the municipality is to foster a community of inclusion, diversity and accessibility.

As an employer, we want to continue to build an organizational culture that understands the concepts of equity, diversity and inclusion to build them into our processes, systems and service to the residents and in how we see and support our employees.

Accessibility Initiatives

We are new in this journey so we have a lot to learn. The Municipality has adopted an Accessibility Plan that we are in the process of implementing.
