To conscientiously steward our region’s tourism assets,
to support responsible growth of the sector.
Ensuring a sustainable equilibrium between
our socio-cultural, economic and natural environment

Why We Are Involved
Why does inclusive employment matter to us? One could point out the alignment with Cariboo Chilcotin Coast Tourism’s vision and mission or the strong history of employment inclusion in the workplace.
The alignment of inclusive employment with the 17 sustainable development goals, the Cariboo Chilcotin Coast Tourism Biosphere Certification or amazing work of organizations such as Accessible Employers and Neil Squire Society or the Cariboo Chilcotin Coast Tourism memorandum of understanding and partnership with Spinal Cord Injury BC are all part of our efforts to promote inclusive employment.
Fundamentally, inclusive employment matters to the Cariboo Chilcotin Coast, its team and its board of directors because it is the naturally right thing to do. It puts people at the heart of our decisions.
Accessibility Initiatives
Cariboo Chilcotin Coast Tourism is a signatory to the 7 Affirmations for 7 Generations pledge led by TOTA and based on the Seven Generations Principle, rooted in Indigenous philosophy: The decisions we make today will have an impact for as many as seven generations to come.
Cariboo Chilcotin Coast Tourism is a signatory to the Catalyst Accord 2020 to grow female leadership in the Canadian tourism industry.
The organization has MOUs with the Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada and the Indigenous Tourism Association of BC.
Cariboo Chilcotin Coast Tourism is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse and inclusive workforce. In signing an MOU with Spinal Cord Injury BC, the Cariboo Chilcotin Coast hired an amazing human to assist us in creating a tourism accessibility program as part of the destination development work we lead. That program continues to grow under new leadership and passion, and we continue to expand our abilities to be a positive, accessible, inclusive employer, share those learnings with our business operators and partners and be a welcoming destination that is accessible and inclusive.
