Free Support for BC Employers to Develop or Improve a Disability Management Program

No-cost support is available for BC workplaces to assess, improve, or develop a Disability Management program.

2026 marks the final year for BC employers to access grant funding for a confidential Workplace Disability Management Assessment through our Community member NIDMAR.

These assessments provide recommendations to help organizations:

  • Strengthen return-to-work and accommodation practices.
  • Reduce illness, injury and long-term disability costs.
  • Retain and engage skilled employees.
  • Meet provincial requirements for maintaining employment and accessibility.

The following video is available that provides details of the process involved.
The Workplace Disability Management Assessment: An employer’s guide to reducing costs and retaining valuable workers

This 12-minute video promotes the benefits of undertaking an assessment of a workplace program. As Bill Dyer, then Director of Program Assessments puts it, “…we are not here to point fingers and tell people that they haven’t been doing their jobs. In fact, the assessment is a supportive and confidential discussion with a consensus-based approach. And the only person who gets the report is the person who requested it.”

Upon completion, workplaces may also qualify for a subsidy of up to $7,500 to support implementing recommended improvements!

Applications are accepted first-come, first-served, until the remaining funding is committed.
