Measuring for Disability Inclusion in BC Workplaces

Organizations measure what they want to improve, so if hiring people with disabilities is a priority for you as an employer, measuring disability is a key place to start.

Presidents Group is committed to improving the representation of people with disabilities in the workplace. The Pledge to Measure initiative, started in 2021, is a commitment to doing so.

All 25 companies that make up Presidents Group, who collectively employ over 50,000 British Columbians, publicly report the number of employees and senior leaders with disabilities within their organizations.

In the first year of reporting, 1,899 employees self-identified with a disability. One year later, in 2022, the number of staff members who identified as having a disability increased to 2,561, a 5.25% increase.

The increase in self-identification is due to organizations creating a safe space for self-disclosure. Also, organizations are quickly adjusting policies to create a more inclusive workplace.

We invite you to join our movement to measure in 2023!

Please fill out this form if you would like to nominate your organization to measure for disability inclusion in the workplace and participate in Presidents Group’s 2023 Pledge to Measure initiative!

Please note: if your organization is one of the 25 members of Presidents Group (our core steering committee), you do not need to indicate interest here, as your organization has committed to taking part.
