Who We Are

I am a digital strategist and web developer and with a background in social justice organizing.

I build custom WordPress websites that are strategically aligned with my client’s organizational goals and values.

I regularly collaborate with other designers and experts to provide a full agency experience.

Why We Are Involved

I know what it feels like to be an outsider and I try hard not to exclude people. I prioritize accessibility and inclusion in all sites I build. This includes the design, the content, and the development.

I build to a baseline of WCAG 2.1 AA standards and continually learn and incorporate best practices in inclusive design and development.

My business values include:

Social justice: The work we do together will be towards building a more just, sustainable and meaningful world.

Mutual respect: The process of working together will be in a spirit of mutual respect and growth with clear communication and the best intentions.

Curiosity: I’m interested in you and the work you do. I ask questions. I try to find the root of any problem, even if it’s not a quick or easy solution.

Accessibility + inclusion: I know what it feels like to be an outsider and I try hard not to exclude people. I prioritize accessibility and inclusion in all sites I build. This includes the design, the content, and the development.

Appropriate technology: I think it’s terrible to saddle an organization with technology that is not useful and is overly complicated or a burden. I’m here to solve problems, not create them. I will never push a shiny new app on you, or talk you into technology that is not necessary for your organization or website.

Accessibility Initiatives

Learning:
Sharing accessibility resources and trainings with team members so we can all attend and share notes. This includes online industry conferences like web directions: access all areas https://webdirections.org/aaa/ and axe con https://www.deque.com/axe-con/

Technology:
We’ve updated our online meeting tools to include closed captioning (zoom and meet) and transcriptions for videos (Loom).

Social:
Following accessibility advocates on Twitter and sharing their insights and resources.
