Pat Davis is President and CEO of British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC). A 20-year veteran of the gambling industry, Pat’s expert knowledge and experience enabled BCLC to deliver in fiscal year 2022/23 a record-setting $1.6 billion in net income to the Province of B.C., which it uses to support healthcare, education, community programs and First Nations.

Pat’s leadership focus includes advancing BCLC’s social purpose to generate win-wins for the greater good, including by fostering more inclusive and accessible workplaces for employees. Under his leadership, BCLC has been recognized as a top employer and Canadian leader in diversity and inclusion. Most recently, Pat was recently named as one of the 500 most-influential business leaders in B.C.

Prior to becoming BCLC’s CEO in August 2022, Pat was BCLC’s Chief Information Officer and Vice President, Business Technology, leading the refresh of BCLC’s technology platforms and enabling the delivery of its digital strategy and innovation agenda, furthering BCLC’s efforts to adapt to rapidly evolving business needs.

A supporter of growing local technology communities, Pat is on the Thompson Rivers University advisory committee for software engineering program and sits on the board for Kamloops Innovation. Pat has worked closely with educators, incubators and startups to strengthen rural ecosystems. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute as well as being certified as a Chartered Director (C.Dir) from the Directors College (a collaboration between McMaster University and The Conference Board of Canada).

Who We Are

BCLC’s mandate is to conduct and manage lottery, casino, bingo and sports betting for the benefit of British Columbians through land-based distribution channels and the province’s only legal gambling website, PlayNow.com. As a Crown corporation, we represent the B.C. government and report to the Ministry of Finance through a Board of Directors.

Our vision is to revolutionize gambling entertainment through engaging experiences that build and benefit communities and our social purpose is to generate win-wins for the greater good. That means that we continually consider the impacts of all activities and decisions on our people, our province, our communities – and our planet.​

Since 1985, BCLC has delivered more than $28 billion in net income back to the province to benefit healthcare, education and community and cultural programs.
